🔋Battery

Our companions have limited battery capacity in their phone. It's important to have enough battery to keep the interaction active. Located at the right of the screen, the battery is a fallback condition for the treasury to be released to a winner. How does it work?
The battery operates as a 30 minutes timer
Whoever has sent the last message when the battery is at 0% is declared the winner
To top up the battery there are 2 options.
Send a message (adds 5 minutes to the current timer)
Charge the battery ( spend $DATE to add 5 minutes to the current timer)
The cost of charging the battery using $DATE is dynamic and is set at 40% of the current message cost. All $DATE proceeds of battery charging get added to the prize pool.
The goal of the battery feature is to set up an interesting balance where the users must decide if they would rather send a message and attempt to win the prize with the current information they have. Or if they would rather spend 60% less and recharge the battery to wait for more information to be available on the companion. Additionally, it sets a fallback condition where users could theoritically collude to decide to win the prize pool together if it is big enough and then share it between themselves. We want this feature to create a dilemma for users so that they feel even more engaged!
Here is a modelisation of what will happen with the battery feature and it's impact on the prize pool. This modelisation considers 300 messages sent and takes into account the optimal times to recharge the battery. This generates a gap of around $1200 in the prize pool in $DATE.
Creates genuine social engagement by making each message meaningful
Combines game theory and social dynamics like poker . Users must balance between contributing to discussions, strategic waiting, and managing their resources.
Offers two balanced strategies: actively participating in conversations (messaging) or strategically waiting and observing (recharging) . Both are viable paths to winning.
Built-in tension through the 30-minute battery mechanic creates natural urgency and excitement. Every message could be the winning one, but rushing could be costly.
Integrates utility to $DATE, making it a key component in crafting a strategy to win over our companions
